Our wonderful travels to Colorado could not end without a visit to Colorado Springs. Our day started with the Garden of the Gods, a visit to the Zoo and a wonderful dinner with friends. The Zoo is a type of Zoo that I have never experienced. The exhibit is very natural and sets on a side of a mountain. The pathways through the Zoo will take you to the top of the mountain leaving you with a beautiful view of the city. The great news is once you reach the top (where the altitude really will humble you) it is down hill all the way (more my style) and it just keeps getting better. The animals have such a good home at the Colorado Springs Zoo. We were able to get up close to the animals with natural settings and sometimes with no barrier. We could see Pikes Peak at a distance and we look forward to exploring the beautiful mountain on our next visit to the beautiful Colorado Springs.
This Wolf and I shared something special. He would stare at me and left me feeling we could be friends. I think he could see I appreciated him.
This Bear was fantastic. We were just a few feet away and he was just beautiful!!!
