We will meet up with our Son and his Wife and her family from Michigan and our Granddaughter in Missouri. They will stay at the Cedar Lodge while we will stay up the road at Table Rock.
Wow!!! Where do I begin? We left home from Rowlett Texas and traveled to Catherines Landing in Hot Springs Arkansas. We stayed a couple of nights and enjoyed our stay so much that we decided to come back and spend more time at a later date. We continued our travels to Table Rock State Park this will be our home port for the next week while we explore a few places that we just loved. I know our title says Branson Missouri but we never spent time in the city, we will save it for next time. Oh yes there will be a next time.
Places we visited on our first day visit to Missouri
Our first place we wanted to visit was the Bass Pro Shop in Springfield Missouri just north of Branson. I was totally blown away at this store, it was huge!!!! Inside was more than a store, it had a wonderful Museum called Wonders of Wildlife and Aquarium. You will not be disappointed, it was very educational with history of common and exotic animals across the country. We enjoyed the many Native Indian artifacts and displays that showed and educated us about some of our ancestors and how they lived. The Aquarium was as good as most that I have seen. We enjoyed the colorful displays of fish from around the World.
The Nascar and the Bass fishing Hall of Fame was very well done with a very educational exhibit of the history of racing and professional bass fishing.
Our Second Day We Visited The Dog Wood Canyon Nature Park
It was a chilly morning and we bundled up and headed west of Cedar Lodge to Dog Wood Canyon. We chose to do the Guided Tour and was so pleased with this complete tour. It is so beautiful with waterfalls coming down from nearby bluffs and rock formation. With the road winding through the hills and bluffs we would come to many pools of water that was full of trout and other specie of fish, they even have fly fishing guided tours and you can catch beautiful huge Rainbow Trout. There is a wonderful souvenir shop and a Restaurant at the end of the tour.
